Ladies and gentlemen, it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for. The time has come to announce the winner of the Mat Dolphin x Creative Review competition!

Last week we were lucky enough to win a years subscription to the excellent Creative Review magazine courtesy of the lovely people at Source personnel. Employing our ‘nice to be nice’ philosophy (and because we’ve already got a subscription…), we thought we would offer the prize to our blog readers. We didn’t want to make it too easy so we decided to hold a photography competition – the theme being work.

We set up a Flickr account, allowed entrants to upload their pictures and recruited Olivia Howitt from the Radio Times Picture Desk and editor of the What’s In Your Bedroom blog to help out with the judging. The entries were varied in style, technique and skill but one winner had to be picked. The only criteria for judging was ‘do we like it?’.

So without further ado, the winner is…

Michael Dowell with his image Fruity Light Box! We could try and rationalise the reasons for this choice but what is there to be said? Fruit with eyes! Crappy office phones! Wacom pad! Manky old banana! Congratulatons Mr Dowell, your first copy of CR is on the way.

The journey this competition has taken us on has been bigger than X-Factor and Big Brother combined. Big thanks to everyone who made the effort to make a contribution, your involvement was genuinely appreciated.
